Chris CornwellI am 23 years old and I live in Hertfordshire but have been fortunate enough to travel around the country and even around the world singing the music I love. As you can see from my website my favourite type of music is swing. I have many influences including singers like Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and Englands own Matt Monro and from the modern era singers like Micheal Buble are helping to bring this music back to a younger generation. My love for singing really took off when I was appearing at the London Palladium in Oliver! From there I appeared in another show called Hey Mr Producer! After that I managed to get some acting roles on TV and appeared in My Parents Are Aliens and Big Kids. I was also fortunate to get parts in a couple of adverts too! Whilst I enjoyed acting I always knew my first love was singing so at 17 I took a job at Warners as a resident singer. I did this for two years to gain experience and stage craft. I moved from Warners to go out on my own and started singing at social clubs and bars up and down the country to gain more experience and further hone my act. My aim at this point was to sing with big bands and this was realised when I got the chance to sing with the Squadronaires. I have now also been a band leader on a cruise ship and working with big bands in theatres has been all I hoped it would be. My main desire is to bring swing music back to the attention of all ages and whilst I enjoy singing many kinds of music swing will always be my first love.
